My favorite time of year

Fall has to be my favorite time of year. It is so beautiful up here and there are so many things to do. One of my favorite things to do this time of year is can food. I just think there is something more special and self fulfilling when you can make it yourself. My mother bought a grapevine a couple of years ago and this year we harvested the fruit. We didn't get a whole lot since there is only one vine but it was enough to make jelly and juice. (don't worry, I didn't use my feet to mash the grapes...maybe next year!) Maybe we'll add a few more vines so we can make wine next time! We also picked a bunch of apples from trees at the farm and made a huge batch of applesauce. The kids love it and it's so easy to make.
